Breed Specific Legislation - or BSL - is one of the most heartbreaking, misguided laws still enforced around the world. It condemns dogs as “dangerous” based purely on how they look, not how they behave.
Every year, thousands of gentle, loyal dogs are taken from their homes simply because they match a banned “type.” Many are never returned. The lucky ones survive, but often come back traumatised, needing months - sometimes years - to feel safe again.
And the worst part? In many cases, the decision comes down to nothing more than a tape measure. Not a behaviour assessment. Not a DNA test. A tape measure. One millimetre in the “wrong” direction can decide whether a dog lives or dies.
We’re not having it.
